These are some requirements I will need to incorporate into the design. The required vertical height clearance for this bridge will need to be 5.5m above all paved surfaces. The width for two directional cycle and pedestrian traffic is a minimum of 3.5m and the maximum slope for wheel chair accessibility will be 1:12.

I would like to incorporate wheel chair accessibility into at least a portion of the bridge design. I found the "Americanswith Disabilities Act and Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility Guidelines" home page. There is some in depth rules and guidelines that seem to be in place for new construction in the United States. See the link on the right.
